Take weather-appropriate scarves and hats in your hand luggage when you travel, and take some time to select the right bag. Wearing some eye-catching stud earrings and a discreet necklace could make all the difference to your look on long-haul flights.
The shoes you wear can be comfortable without looking dated and shabby — ballet flats are ideal for travelling in style, for instance. A simple pair of leather boots will help you getting around looking great if you have a lot of walking to do. However, make sure to wear shoes that can be taken off and put back on relatively quickly. Sandals, fashionable trainers and slip-ons are perfect for the job.
It is always best to be prepared for every weather-related eventuality when you are travelling. However, you will need to think about where you journey starts and ends in terms of the layers you take.

For cold climates, take lots of different layers rather than one large coat — T-shirts, tops, jumpers, cardigans in that order should work a treat. If you are travelling to a warmer climate, you can simply take layers off when the need arises. Be sure to pack an extra pair of thick socks and a spare pair of tights or stockings in your hand luggage, too… just in case you start feeling chilly on a plane or train.
Before you set off on your travels, exfoliate and moisturise your face. Doing this will not only freshen you up, it will allow you to add make-up when you start to look and feel tired later during your journey. When the time is right, you can always pop to a bathroom and apply lip gloss, cream foundation and eye-liner. Stock your handbag with your favourite items of make-up in order to hide tiredness and give yourself a mental lift on arduous journeys.
For many women, there is a temptation to go for a natural hairstyle during travel.

However, you can pimp your entire look and make yourself feel great in the process by braiding your hair. Opting for a simple ponytail or allowing your hair to flow freely could leave you looking dishevelled and tired during the latter stages of your journey. Another great hairstyle for travelling — and one that requires minimal maintenance — is the space bun.
Looking stunning during long journeys is a great way to make the experience more enjoyable. If you look great, the chances are you will be more energised when you travel.
