It's that time again in Berlin: from 27th June until 1st July 2016, the fashion world gathered for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! The Lounge by Zalando Magazine team was delighted to be present as Austrian designer Rebekka Ruétz revealed her latest creations on June 29th.
This year, models took to the catwalk at Erika Hess Stadium in Wedding. The venue was decorated with lush plants and wood to create a bright, friendly lounge atmosphere. Of course, there was no shortage of champagne on ice for visitors!
Professional stylists used products from cosmetics manufacturers Maybelline New York, L'Oréal, and Catrice to present creative looks that channelled urban style and new beauty trends.
Classic and modern went hand in hand during the show. Rebekka Ruétz designs are very much inspired by the Renaissance and models were swathed in graceful skirts and dresses embellished with detailed painted motifs. A rock soundtrack created a rebellious atmosphere that highlighted the collection's strong, modern character.
"Our personal highlights for this show include the bodysuits shown."
Wide flared skirts, wide belts, and slim-cut tops skillfully emphasise the feminine silhouette. Using a wide range of materials, the designer plays on the contrast between light cotton, silk and lace and heavy leather.
Shoes are also inspired by the Renaissance period but they're reinterpreted in bright colours. Our personal highlights of the show include the bodysuits featured.
Next summer, this great all-rounder is going to be the key piece in every wardrobe!
