Unsurprisingly, elongated faces are more developed along their vertical axis. The face remains about the same width at the temples and jaw level, while the chin doesn't tend to protrude very far.
When you have a long facial shape, your choice of sunglasses should fall upon wider designs and rounded shapes which balance your facial proportions, making it seem shorter. Typically, flattering lens shapes include cat-eyes or clubmaster models, while details on top of your sunglasses will generally work really well.

Should I go for a trendy model for summer 2017, or a model that will never go out of fashion? What do you recommend?
Go for both! These days, sunglasses cover a huge range of products, with trendy and high-quality models varying from the most affordable to the most exclusive, and there's no need to sacrifice trendy aesthetics in favour of protection, comfort or features like polarised lenses. This year, many models are based on timeless vintage designs that combine the appeal of the past with today's technical innovations.
